Teaching Ukrainian and Russian as a foreign language

For those foreigners who are willing to study Ukrainian and Russian languages there has been found a Department in which there are professional staff. Every specialist has a creative personality. All teachers have academic education and long-term working experience. They know foreign languages and teach with the help of contemporary study materials. The emphasis is done mostly on training and development of students’ communicative skills. In this way they can use their knowledge out of classrooms in real life situations.

Communicative methodology means that teaching is conducted only in the language which is being learnt. After many years of cooperation we developed methodology of teaching Ukrainian and Russian languages directly, i.e. without intermediary of other foreign languages. The advantage of the following methodology is quick apprehension of the language which is being learnt due to absence of translation to the intermediary language and then to the Ukrainian/ Russian. Meanwhile for those who wish to have other intermediary language there are professional teachers who know English, French and German.

We teach in nice and specially equipped classrooms. Use of visual aids, audio- and visual materials are compulsory at the lessons.
We use contemporary course books published in 2006-2008.

Before the course starts it is necessary to define the previous level of student’s knowledge. In order to do that we give tests or interview (if a student wishes). In the end of the course our students receive LANGUAGE CERTIFICATE of “IH” according to the results of the final testing. The Certificate proves the level achieved by the student.
The minimum quantity of academic hours for receiving the Certificate is 120 hours.

The lessons of Ukrainian or Russian are offered to students of any levels, starting with “survival language” up till the highest professionally oriented levels. Flexible schedule is possible. There is also a waiting group list in our school.
